TEK Systems - Pittsburgh, PASubmitted by drewzhrodague on Wed, 2004-03-24 17:03.
TEKSystems has locations all over, really. I found some contact information for this guy here in Pittsburgh. Their website lists locations for all of the US, Europe, and Canada. Bassegio,Aaron J. Pittsburgh, PA 15220 Phone: (412) 919-3767 E-mail: abassegi@teksystems.com While I've never worked for them personally, I know a number of people who have. They didn't report anything bad, just a ho-hum experience. TekSystems is a disgrace. They are a complete disaster and I will never work for them again, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. They change contract terms between time of job offer and contract, they repeatedly provide false and misleading information and they appear to have no sense of how contracting firms (or professional businesses) should operate. They clearly fight for their benefit and not yours as the contractor. I have been with them for several months, and they have yet to get one pay check correct - always an error that is completely unexplainable and unpredictable. TekSystems has admitted to providing contracts that dont have relation to the reality of the position, with the statements that 'Oh, we use standard contracts for everyone and every position. We simply ignore what doesnt apply to the specific situation'. One would hope that a company of their size would have some level of professionalism and respect for their employees/contractors, but this is not the case. Interveiwed with two of their recruiters at the same time here in louisville, Melissa Kull and some other higher person in the company. The interview was ok, they seemed very nice and all. But the job position(s) were dependant solely on their aptitude test online, which is insanely hard (and ive been a network admin for years) and you'd need a 6 month college refresher course just to pass. I dont see how these people even stay in business. So its probably not worth your time, I knew it wasnt for me. I would like to wish you much luck. And a lot of money. Thank you. Worked for them on two seperate contracts and they screwed my paycheck alot and never paid my overtime right i was a PC Tech on my first contract with Unisys they kept changing the contract on me and when it was done fed me a lie about how i wasnt able to accept a full time position with the company after they offered it. The second was a Network admin and i accepted the companys offer to become a fulltime employee so i can say if it wasnt for tek systems i wouldnt be were i am today. Thank you very very very much. Wish you luck and mercy from all the creatures around the world. They also go by Aerotek. Never worked for them, but never want to. I got contacted by them so many times, never got a response, so I decided to REMOVE myself from their e-mail distributions. This did not work, so I called their offices in NYC and asked for the office manager to get myself removed. I wound up speaking with someone named Dixita (Dixie) Patel. She apologized profusely for the situation, then invited me to have lunch with her to discuss my career goals. I made the appointment, trekked all the way to their offices, asked for Dixie, and was told "She's out to lunch." How f'd up is that? Months later I learned that Dixie had actually been looking to place herself with one of the clients, that was her goal, not to get anyone else a job. She wound up taking a position with JP Morgan Chase in Metrotech Center. What a loser. I hope someone from JPMC who knows her reads this. Just keep away from Tek Systems/Aerotek!!!!!!! Never really had any luck with Aerotek. I usually get a half-dozen or so emails, all from the same office, all about the same time, or relating to the same position. It's usually nothing more than a resume harvest operation - if they have something it's low-rent and not really worth my time to look at. I can find $9/hour jobs on my own, thank you. I made the mistake of going in to an office to meet a recruiter once, at the recruiter's request. Turned out to be a "Well, we don't have anything right now..." deal. I quit dealing with them right there. |

Regardless which office calls you, the game is the same, they want to market your references at your expense. Like Modis, they pay every low rates.
