I really wasn't sure that this was even real. It's not well worded, has a generic link to a social website, has an AOL address for the reply-to, and really just looks, well, phony. It does appear to be a real company, but I really don't feel like taking that risk. Except for the location, this is exactly how it came to me, stray colon and all.

Nothing against you Tammy, but please work on your presentation a little. This just is too 'off' looking.

I decided to send a slightly modified (no address) resume to this company, with a follow up a few days later. To date, there was no reply even though I directly asked for the detailed description. I have to assume this one is fake.

Over two weeks now. Still no reply. I love it when companies send out massive mails and then don't bother to reply.

I'm actually a financial guy...and I received an email, much much worse than the one here from this doofus several months ago. Curious, I responded, providing information on what I would and wouldn't consider...and specifically, in italics even (as I suspected it was) said iwas not interested in CPA firms and why. To that I got another almost incomprehensible reply. But the position was exactly what I expected...a very well advertised always recruiting local CPA firm, and she had set an appointment up for me!

To that, I responded and said the CPA thing was exactly what I said I didn't want...and something like communicating with her was hard, as there was some serious grammar errors and spelling errors...and even suggested (helpfully I thought) she may want to correct the terrible ones (and a repeated word) the were even in the subject line of the email...

Boy did I get a vile email in reply...the less vile, but more stupid remarks were, as I recall, something to the effect of both: how was she to know I didn't want a CPA firm....AND how dare I think she should read what people send her....she's an executiove recruiter running a business. And I shouldn't reply to what she was writing as she was blocking my email address. I was certainly heartbroken.

I actually was curious enough to run a search (name/address - that type of thing)...business out of house...other business at that address include cleaning service, hauling, and something else I can't rememeber - all at same number.

Well...I bet if she makes a placement, it will make her year.

I kind of figured as much. I'm guessing Tammy is merely finding jobs posted elsewhere and passing them along, hoping to make a buck in the process.

You're doing better than I did - I wasn't able to find an address for this company. Granted, I didn't look all that hard. The only thing I ran across was another posting, worded almost identically to mine. Find something that works, and stick with it.

I'm still waiting for a reply from her, as well as looking for a home for a stray colon...

To the gentleman that are whining like babies and trashing someone and a company they know nothing about
Really mature guys, I guess this is why they invent sites like this for idiots to have a place to cry! I wonder if that is why no one calls you back for employment.... here are some facts.
Many times the text in an e-mail changes went sent out to different e-mail addresses, I have seen this often.
You post your resume on monster.com and welcome recruiters to call on you.
Do you really expect that a recruiter or company has to answer every single resume back that they get sent?
They are not obligated to do so, they are trying to help.
The bottom line is that your skills were not a fit for the job and by not answering is the nice way to tell candidates that there is no interest.

Funny thing is the company is legit, very professional, and the number in no way belongs to any hauling, cleaning or other company. You need to do better research.
This company staffs for over 50 clients and does well both East and West Coast. I know because I have hired them!! They are fabulous!!

You seem to be overlooking one thing here. I didn't call them, they called me. Granted, I dilly-dallied in sending a resume off, but I promptly replied to a SECOND, different email I received (different in job only, the rest was identical.) No reply to that one either.

Breakdown!

>>To the gentleman that are whining like babies and trashing someone and a company they know nothing about
Hard to know anything about a company when they won't call you back after you do everything they want.
>>Really mature guys, I guess this is why they invent sites like this for idiots to have a place to cry! I wonder if that is why no one calls you back for employment.... here are some facts.
A place where we can post about people that want to play the game but want to invent their own rules, perhaps. I get plenty of calls, sometimes to the point where I turn down offerings. That has not been the case recently, since the midwest (USA) is getting hit hard with job losses.
>>Many times the text in an e-mail changes went sent out to different e-mail addresses, I have seen this often.
What?
>>You post your resume on monster.com and welcome recruiters to call on you.
I do. My name, a real email address, my location, and exactly what I'm looking for are all posted there as well. But still, I get stuff like this. This one didn't even bother to find the email address that's so clearly listed.
>>Do you really expect that a recruiter or company has to answer every single resume back that they get sent?
When they contact me first, yes. Shore Recruiting contacted me, and I replied as per request (after deliberation.)
>>They are not obligated to do so, they are trying to help.
They can help by being more serious about who they send emails out to. This is starting to show the signs of being a blast to the masses type mail. If you have no interest in replying to the communications that you send out, then don't send them out. I think they ARE obligated to reply if they initiated contact.
>>The bottom line is that your skills were not a fit for the job and by not answering is the nice way to tell candidates that there is no interest.
So, the fact that this company contacted me first doesn't matter? That something about my profile attracted them? That I wrote a personal (not form letter) cover letter to Shore? That I sent everything they requested (after deliberation) and still didn't get so much as a how-do-you-do? I don't expect to get every job I apply for, but when I do everything you ask and you still don't reply, well...that just looks bad for you. Even worse when it was you that did the intial contacting.
>>Funny thing is the company is legit, very professional,
A generic AOL address gets laughed at in all the tech circles I know of, and a real email address or five will set you back $20/year with GoDaddy. A generic link to a social website where you have to be a member to see most anything is a no-no if you want to show people something. And, randomly peppering your emails with technical jargon you know nothing about is the best way to make yourself look silly. Note the plaintive '3070' hanging around at the end of a sentence. Um...3070?
>> and the number in no way belongs to any hauling, cleaning or other company. You need to do better research.
Probably true. But, it is a cell phone. Not a big deal anymore.
>>This company staffs for over 50 clients and does well both East and West Coast. I know because I have hired them!! They are fabulous!!
I assume you mean you've hired employees via Shore Recruiting, and not Shore Recruiting. I'm happy that you've had a stellar experience.

Please, sir or madam, do a little more proofreading on your posts. That's very painful to read.

Anyway, to close, I'll repeat this because I think it's worth repeating. Don't send out things unless you plan on replying to them. If you call someone, expect them to do something, they do it and you blow them off, don't get mad when they call you on it.

Received another email with the same job as the OP. This time, it was cleaned up a little to include a full URL to Linkedin, and the lonely '3070' had some additional information attached to it.

No reply to this one either.
