The Yorktown Group - Williamsburg, VASubmitted by drewzhrodague on Mon, 2006-03-27 19:20.
MRI Yorktown MRI Yorktown occasionally sends out mass mailings of positions in the hopes that the recipient will know someone that can fill them. Although I'm sure the positions are real, why use spammer techniques to try and contact a target audience that probably hates spammer techniques? Personally, I ignore anything like this, especially when it's nothing more than a "We want you to fill these for us" email. I guess someone is replying to them. The emails are typically a half-megabyte of fonts and colors, headed by "CAN YOU RECOMMEND ANYONE FOR THESE OPPORTUNITIES??? HERE IS A SHORT LIST, WITH DETAILED DESCRIPTIONS BELOW." The size isn't really a problem anymore, considering that free email services offer 1GB or more inboxes. I remember getting these in the days when a 3MB inbox was not uncommon. A busy day would fill my mailbox. I still wonder how many potential opportunities I missed because of job board spam. Now, with huge email boxes, I just keep them around for laughs.
