This position has been on the market for quite some time, as this is the 3rd time I've received this exact body of text, in as many months. From what I can tell, this is for one of the old Bell System (AT&T/Lucent) manufacturing locales in Ohio that outsourced 2,000 or so positions a few years back, and they are now moving what little remains to a lower cost facility. From what I'm told, most of the talent is long gone.

Job Description

MUST HAVE BSEE. ALSO MUST HAVE EXP WITH TEST ENGINEERING AND/OR SOFTWARE PROGRAMMING**RF Test Engineer to support manufacturing system test transfer for CDMA and UMTS Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) from the Columbus System Integration Center (SIC) to the Longview SIC. The engineer will be responsible disassembling, transferring, installing, calibration, and verification of test sets. The engineer will work with the Global Hardware Platform and the Global Test Engineering Teams to successfully transfer all test assets between locations.The engineer will also be responsible for providing on-site support, assisting manufacturing technicians in trouble-shooting BTS cabinets, identifying and resolving manufacturing yield and throughput issues, identifying and resolving supplier quality issues, training new test operators, updating and improving test instructions, and assisting with New Product Introduction (NPI) Product Transfers. The test engineer will work with the Global Test Engineering Team on product and test improvements.The successful candidate will have a strong background and experience with National Instruments LabVIEW and TestStand applications and RF Testing. Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as, data analysis expertise will be crucial to achieving success in this position. .
