Most of the job boards allow you to block certain employers from finding your resume. The reasons vary a lot, from you don't want your current employer finding out that you're looking for a new job, to the fact that some of the users of job boards are useless and generally make themselves annoying.

To start a discussion, here's my blocked list and why I've blocked them:

Cornerstone America: An insurance/financial services company that offers nothing but work-at-home type schemes. They continually send out letters and make themselves annoying. Shortly before I blocked this company, I would receive 15 emails a week from them (about 2-3 a day, in most cases, all from different "local" offices.)

Schneider National: A trucking company. They aren't an engineering firm. I don't want to drive a truck, and they continually send out letters and make themselves annoying.

General Employment Services (Ohio): A company that sends out "I have received your resume. Please call my office," and when you do you are required to come in and speak with them before they will even tell you why they called. I don't have time for that. At least tell me what you want.

ITS Technologies: A company that has been very painful to work with. They continually call with crap jobs and lame excuses, and pull borderline-dirty tricks to get people in chairs. I gave up dealing with them when a job offer went sour because of what they negelected to mention, and becuase of some of the lies they've told me about positions. Last time I spoke with them, they were pumping me for information about my current employer and asking me for phone numbers of other people I know.
